Hour 1: Loving Samaritans

How can we live radically inclusive lives without compromising our beliefs or the truth of the gospel? Pastor Terry Crist is in-studio to encourage us to love like Samaritans. He has written a wonderful resource titled Loving Samaritans: Radical Kindness in an Us vs. Them World.

Terry is the pastor of the church, City of Grace, in Arizona. Terry is passionate about community transformation and promotes adoption and foster care through his work in state government. An avid outdoorsman and gifted communicator, he has adventured and preached the gospel in over 64 nations.

Hour 2: Help for the Hungry Soul

Kristen Wetherell's mission is to help others love Jesus, learn his Word, and live in light of his Gospel. Today she is with us to explore her book Help for the Hungry Soul: Eight Encouragements to Grow Your Appetite for God's Word.

Kristen is a pastor's wife, a mother of three, a writer, and a speaker. She is the author of several books and enjoys teaching God's Word to women of local churches. She lives in Chicagoland with her husband, Brad. They are members of The Orchard.

Hour 3: Taboo Topics

Steve welcomes Mike Novotny to talk about some hot-button issues dominating our culture. Mike maintains that although some topics might be taboo, it simply won't work to hide from uncomfortable conversations. He encourages us to engage in the difficult dialogue with his book Taboo: Topics Christians Should Be Talking About But Don't.

Mike Novotny has written numerous books, including 3 Words That Will Change Your Life, What’s Big Starts Small, You Know God Loves You, Right?, and When Life Hurts. He holds a Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and loves being able to pour his joy and passion into his ministry at The CORE. Mike is also the lead speaker for Time of Grace, a global media ministry that is committed to ensuring that God’s grace—his love, glory, and power—is accessible around the world. Mike lives with his wife, Kim, and their two daughters, Brooklyn and Maya; runs long distances; and plays soccer with other middle-aged men whose best days are long behind them.
