Today, on Karl and Crew, we broadcasted live from MorningStar Mission Ministries in Joliet, Illinois! MorningStar is a non-denominational organization dedicated to relieving the spiritual and physical hunger of the poor. They do this by providing food for the hungry, clothing for the needy, shelter for the homeless, and, most importantly, the Gospel of Jesus Christ for all. Your generosity helps provide food, shelter, and recovery services to those in need. Join us in transforming lives through love, care, and compassion.
Today, on Karl and Crew, we discussed the importance of not only aligning our Spirit with God but also our bodies. Our bodies are an extension of our Spirit and should be treated with just as much intentionality and devotion. Paul tells us our bodies are temples, so we should take care of them and not subject them to spiritually harmful things such as sexual immorality or idolatry. We turned to Romans 8:13 and Romans 12:1 where we read that we need to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God and live through the Spirit and not the flesh because the ways of the flesh lead to death. We need to feed our bodies spiritual nourishment. Have you been spiritually nourishing your body? We also shared a sermon by Karl that goes more in-depth on how to align our bodies with God’s will and plan. You can hear the highlights of today’s program on Karl and Crew Showcast.
Today, on Karl and Crew, we talked about family...the family of Christ! We often prioritize our biological family and sometimes forget about our spiritual family. Our spiritual family is connected to us, not by blood, but by a devoted lifestyle, love and faith centered on Jesus Christ. As a family in Christ, we all are on the same walk, so it’s encouraging to be in community with others who understand what it’s like. Jesus even tells us to be in fellowship and community with the body of Christ. We also looked to Mark 3:31-35 to see Jesus’s perspective on who His family is. We should have that same heart posture when it comes to embracing our spiritual brothers and sisters. You can hear the highlights of today’s program on Karl and Crew Showcast.
Today, on Karl and Crew, we welcomed Karl back from his trip to Zimbabwe and dove right into a discussion on Spiritual Formation. Spiritual Formation is when God molds your mind to align with His. This alignment with the Lord is crucial for having a relationship with Him because you begin to understand who He is and who He has called you to be in Christ. Your identity is in Him. Whatever you are believing about yourself today will be lived out in your life tomorrow. It is critical to understand who you are in Christ. We shared a special Truth blog by Karl to help you.
