We were then joined by Dr. Juli Slattery this morning to answer listener questions about love, intimacy, and relationships. Dr. Slattery is a clinical psychologist, author, and the President and Co-founder of Authentic Intimacy ministry. She is an expert in biblical sexuality and hosts a weekly podcast called Java with Juli. Dr. Gary Chapman joined us to discuss his experiences as a father and how applying the love languages to fatherhood helped him break unhealthy patterns and create healthy interactions with his children. Dr. Chapman is a well-known marriage counselor, speaker, pastor, and author of the New York Times bestseller, “The Five Love Languages.” He is also the host of "Building Relationships," which airs every Saturday at noon CT on Moody. We were also joined by Rachel Faulkner Brown, who encouraged widows as she shared her own story and the ministry she founded, Never Alone Widows, dedicated to serving and supporting widows. Rachel also hosts a podcast called “There is More Podcast” and has co-written “Father’s House”, an eight-week video-driven Bible study. She has also authored the book, “Widow’s Might: 365 Days of Strength for Grief and Loss- Find Comfort, Hope, and Healing.” We then had Lisa Anderson join us to talk about how young adults can cultivate healthy relationships. Lisa is the director of Boundless and Young Adults at Focus on the Family, a ministry that helps young adults navigate life with biblical wisdom and guidance. On this Freedom Friday, we celebrated freedom from sin as we heard breakthrough stories from our listeners. We opened the phone lines and asked our listeners, “ What caused them to finally hate their sin enough to lean on God’s power and change it?” We heard some powerful testimonies of God’s saving grace. We then listened to a freedom story from Chris Preuss as he shared his testimony and a bit about Maranatha Bible Missionary Conference, Vacation and Retreat Center, also known as Maranatha Camp. Chris is the Executive Director for Maranatha Camp. We were also joined by Greg Dempster, who briefly shared his story, discussing how God redeems us from the bondage of sin. Greg is the Founder and Director of ChristLife Ministries, equipping Christian leaders to confidently bring God’s healing and life to others. He is also a senior leader, elder, and ministry director. Kathi is an author, speaker, blogger, and podcast host of Clutter Free Academy, the Podcast. Kathi is an expert and well-respected on the topics of overcoming clutter from a biblical perspective. She has also authored several books, including “Clutter Free”. Then, Ethan Forhertz joined us to provide an update on the need for support in Central Texas following one of the most severe flooding events in the U.S. during the Fourth of July weekend. Ethan is the National Spokesperson for Convoy of Hope, a Disaster Relief Ministry that serves people who are impoverished, hungry, and hurting.
