Today, on Karl and Crew, we continue our weekly theme, “Hope Rising,” with conversations about how we find hope in every aspect of life. Today, we focused on suffering, specifically Romans 5:1–5. Susie Larson joined us to discuss how God uses suffering to build character, why it is part of the Christian life, and the difference between holy lament and dark sorrow. Susie is the host of “Susie Larson Live,” a national speaker, and a bestselling author. We then had Abdu Murray join us to discuss his journey from Islam to Christianity, what it cost him, and what makes Christianity fundamentally different from every other religion. Abdu is a speaker, author, and attorney who addresses issues where religious faith and emerging cultural trends intersect. He is the President of Embrace the Truth. Today, on Karl and Crew, we wrapped up our weekly theme, “Hope Rising—How We Find Hope in Every Aspect of Life,” with Dr. Drew Dickens, Arlene Pellicane, David Nelms, and Dr. Crawford Loritts. Dr. Drew Dickens joined us to discuss how to navigate the rise of AI with discernment, pointing us back to Jesus as our ultimate source of truth and hope. Dr. Dickens is a visionary leader, AI expert, and scholar who has contributed significantly to the intersection of technology, spirituality, and faith-based engagement. His groundbreaking dissertation explored the impact of generative AI on spiritual direction, and he is the founder of the Encountering Peace app and the Encounter Podcast, helping deepen people’s spiritual lives and their encounter with God amid the chaos of life. Arlene Pellicane also joined us to remind us that when our hopes for our families feel broken, Jesus meets us in that place and restores our hope. She also shared how we can be wise with technology. Arlene is a speaker, author, and host of the Happy Home podcast. She is a marriage and parenting expert and has written several books, including “Growing Up Social,” “Screen Kids,” and “Calm, Cool, and Connected.” She has appeared in major media outlets, including the Today Show, Focus on the Family, Fox & Friends, FamilyLife Today, and The Wall Street Journal. David Nelms joined us to discuss how to be satisfied with Jesus and Jesus alone. David serves as the founder of The Timothy Initiative. Dr. Crawford Loritts also joined us to discuss how to recognize the root of sin and become free. He is a pastor and the founder of Beyond Our Generation.
