The other day, I pulled up to a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru while talking with my mom on the phone. Distracted by our conversation, I drove away without picking up the order I had just paid for! It made me think as to how often we miss what’s right in front of us because we’re distracted. Not just coffee and donuts, but the divine appointments God Himself is setting up in our daily lives.
In Acts 10, we read about Cornelius, a Roman centurion whose heart God had already been preparing long before Peter ever showed up. At the same time, Peter was receiving his own vision from God to get him ready for the encounter. I love how God worked out every detail and still does in our own lives today. He’s always moving ahead of us, orchestrating circumstances, softening hearts, and aligning conversations. The question is: Are we spiritually awake enough to notice when He puts someone right in front of us?
So often I think we miss God’s invitations because we’re preoccupied, fearful, or too distracted. But I believe that when we pray, stay sensitive to His Spirit, and step out in obedience, even when it might feel uncomfortable, we discover that extraordinary things can happen. A simple conversation in line at a store, a rerouted flight, or a surprising interruption may just be the setup for someone else’s breakthrough.
Friend, don’t miss it. God is at work in the world around you. Let’s be people who walk with open eyes, attentive ears, and obedient hearts so we don’t miss the moments He’s prepared.
This Week’s Bold Step:
This week, ask God each morning to make you sensitive to the divine appointments He has for you and then step into them with courage and obedience.
Prayer:
Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve been too distracted or self-focused to see the opportunities You’ve placed in front of me. Awaken my spirit to recognize Your promptings, remove the fear that holds me back, and give me the boldness to step into the moments You’ve prepared. Use me today to point someone to You. Amen.

Recently at New Life Community Church, where I serve as senior pastor, we set aside 21 days to seek God together in prayer. Every morning and evening, our people gathered, and along the way, I witnessed renewal, healing, and powerful answers to prayer. We concluded with 24 hours of nonstop prayer for our church, our city, and our nation.
But here’s the truth: The pursuit of God doesn’t end after 21 days. Prayer is not just an event—it’s a lifestyle of holy desperation for Him. Let’s keep pressing in. Let’s stay hungry for more of God in our lives every single day!
