WJSO (90.1 FM) suffered damage on April 13 from heavy winds that toppled the upper most section of its 170-foot tall guyed tower, thereby knocking the station off-air.
In late May, members of Moody Radio's engineering staff traveled from Chicago, IL to Pikeville, KY and inspected the damage first hand. Unfortunately, they determined that the cost to repair the tower will cost considerably more and will be far more complicated than first thought. The current tower dates back to WJSO's original sign-on date of 3/14/1989.
The Moody Radio leadership team is now actively exploring alternative options that could allow WJSO to return to the air more quickly.
Therefore, we covet your prayers as we seek to restore WJSO back to on-air status as quickly as possible.
