Hour 1: TITW August Edition: Paul's Letters From Prison - with Dr. John Koessler

Can hardship be a blessing? When Martin Luther King Jr. penned his Letter From a Birmingham City Jail in April 1963, he joined a long tradition of Christians who wrote letters and books while in jail, including John Bunyan, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and most notably, the apostle Paul. Paul spoke of the unexpected gifts God gave him as a prisoner, and his letters, surprisingly, were written in a spirit of joy and hope. On Tuesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, MBI faculty emeritus, Dr. John Koessler tells us that although the apostle Paul was under house arrest in Rome, instead of curtailing his ministry, this imprisonment allowed Paul to articulate some of the deepest theology in the New Testament.

Hour 2: Is a Spiritual Recession God's Judgment On our Nation? - with Mark Turman

Federal Reserve officials raised interest rates recently to their highest level in twenty-two years. They also left the door open to further rate increases in the future. Since financial downturns typically occur when the Fed raises rates, everyone wants to know: is a recession coming? More importantly, is a spiritual recession coming, or is it already here? If it is here, what can we do to respond? On Tuesday’s Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Mark Turman Executive Director of Denison Forum discusses three decisions taken from Psalm 33 that evangelicals can take to awaken the awe in the God we proclaim.
