Hour 1: Help 4 Families

How do you know when God is moving? Join Dawn and Steve in the Morning for a devotional from Blackaby Ministries International  about evidence that God is drawing us to Himself.

Also this hour, Denise Shick joins us to graciously share her story and talk with us about "Moving Forward in Community" when a member of our family is LGBTQ+.

Denise is the founder and executive director of Help 4 Families Ministry. She is the author of four children’s books and several nonfiction books, including My Daddy’s Secret, Understanding Gender Confusion—A Faith-Based Perspective, and Transgender Confusion—A Biblical Q&A for Families. She is an ordained minister and has a BA in psychology. She is a certified life coach through ICCI. She has been interviewed on several faith-based radio and television programs. She is also a conference speaker and presents workshops on gender identity dysphoria and its impact on families. Denise has led church-based support groups for people with sexual addictions and has assisted groups in an alcohol and substance abuse clinic. She served seven years in a Christian pregnancy center in several roles and implemented an abstinence program, for which she was the director.

Hour 2: Abstinence & Marriage Education Partnership

Why is abstinence an important topic for us to discuss in today's culture? Executive Director, Scott Phelps, is in-studio to talk about the Abstinence and Marriage Education Partnership. The A&M Partnership exists to ensure that every teenager in the country has the opportunity to hear a clearly reasoned, positive presentation on the benefits of abstinence until marriage and instruction on preparing for a healthy future marriage.

Hour 3: The Responsive Marriage

Listen at the top of this third hour as Dr. Don Welch talks with us about his book The Responsive Marriage: Finding the Path Out of Reactivity, a wonderful tool to help us grow in marriage.

The Welch Family Therapy Institute (WFTI) was founded by Dr. Welch, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist with over 30 years of experience in the fields of mental health and relationship skills. Dr. Welch founded the Center for Enriching Relationships (CER) in 2002 which currently operates ten (10) sites with thirty (30) therapists and fifty (50) university students in training serving thousands of clients throughout San Diego, California. Dr. Welch oversees a partnership between CER and Point Loma Nazarene University to train and provide clinical hours to students in the Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling program. He is a published author, university professor, and speaker at conferences, churches, retreats, and seminars throughout the United States. He holds a bachelor’s degree, three (3) master’s degrees, and a doctorate degree.

To wrap up today's show, Josh Newell from The Jesus Film Project joins us to share some exciting news!

Josh brings a range of experience to the role of executive director of Jesus Film Project. Shortly after graduating from Indiana University, he and his wife, Holly, joined staff with Campus Crusade for Christ® as part of the first JESUS film short-term recording team. Through that experience, they developed a heart for the Muslim world and worked with Bible translation partners in the Middle East to translate new versions of the JESUS film. After moving their family to serve in the North Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia area, Josh began to lead the Global Church Movements (GCM) for Campus Crusade. In 2013 Josh received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and joined Jesus Film Project as director of Marketing Communications and U.S. Strategy. He and Holly have four children.
