Hour 1: War and Peace
Join us today as we discuss the war in Iran following by the peace we find in Christ. Dr. Hormoz Shariat, of Iran Alive Ministries, will share with us what he is hearing behind the headlines in Iran and will teach us how to pray specifically for the Iranian people. Then, if your life doesn't look the way you expected, that doesn't mean God can't use you. The Christian life often doesn’t feel like the stained-glass images we remember from childhood—happy, holy, hopeful. But God never promised that we won’t have trouble. Rather, He promises to be with us through the storm. Shanno Bream will remind us that nothing is impossible with God.

We start the hour by looking at some of the stories making headlines before talking with Patti Garibay, of American Heritage Girls, who will explain why scouting should be about moral principles and not shifting ideology. We round out the hour talking about Daylight Saving Time with Dr. Jeff Zweerink,j who will argue that the science behind sunlight is so central to human life, and how those rhythms reflect a purposeful design in nature.

Dr. Hormoz Shariat
Dr. Hormoz Shariat is the founder of Iran Alive Ministries. He was born into a Muslim family in Iran and came to the United States after the Islamic Revolution of 1979, where he came to Christ while earning my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering as a graduate student at USC in 1980. In 1987, Hormoz planted a church in San Jose, California. With hundreds of Muslim converts, which remains one of the largest churches of its kind in the United States. In 2001 he followed the Lord’s leading and founded Iran Alive Ministries, which utilizes Satellite TV to reach the millions of lost and broken people of Iran and the rest of the Middle East. Today, the ministry broadcasts the Gospel 24/7 from studios in Dallas to Iran and the Middle East, trusting the Lord to transform a nation, which is responding to the Gospel unlike any other time in history.

Dr. Jeff Zweerink
Astrophysicist Jeff Zweerink is a research scholar at Reasons to Believe. He earned a PhD in astrophysics from Iowa State University. His writing and speaking encourage people to consider the connection between Scripture’s truth and scientific evidence. He is the author of Escaping the Beginning?, Is There Life Out There?, and Who’s Afraid of the Multiverse?, and coauthor of Building Bridges and the Impact Events student devotional series. Jeff is also a project scientist at UCLA.
