Tony and Lauren Dungy

Tony and Lauren Dungy are authors of the New York Times bestseller Uncommon Marriage. In 2007, Tony became the first African-American head coach to win the Super Bowl and he now serves as the studio analyst for NBC’s Football Night in America. He is also a spokesman for the national fatherhood program, All-Pro Dad. In Tampa, Florida he worked as a public speaker for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Athletes in Action and also began a mentoring program called Mentors for Life. In Indianapolis, he helped launch the Basket of Hope program that aids patients at the Riley Hospital for Children.

Lauren Dungy is a former elementary school teacher and current Sunday School teacher. She is Vice President of the Dungy Family Foundation, an organization that looks to help meet the physical, educational and spiritual needs of those in her community. She is the founder and president of the Sisters Book Club and also serves on the staff of The Central Tampa Baptist Church, where she is a Women’s Bible Study leader and also works with the Youth Choir.

Together, the Dungys have written ten children’s books and are active members of a number of family, faith, and community-based organizations, including All Pro Dad, iMom, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Mentors for Life, Family First, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and the Boys and Girls Club of America.
