Israel and the Jewish people always seem to be in the headlines. Terrorism. War. Antisemitism on university campuses and around the globe. Jews are the topics of conversation in podcasts, on school campuses, and in our homes. Yet Christians are wondering about the modern State of Israel and contemporary Jewish people. Are they related to the biblical kingdom of Israel and the ancient Jewish people of the Scriptures? Others question whether Jewish people are only God’s people of yesterday, or do they have an ongoing place in God’s plan? How does the Church relate to the Jewish people and why should Christians care about the Jewish people and their homeland? Dr. Michael Rydelnik joins us to offer clarity and biblical guidance.

Todd Nettleton
Todd Nettleton is director of media development for The Voice of the Martyrs, working with the media to tell the stories of persecuted Christians to people in the United States. In his role with VOM, he has met with Christians who face persecution in many countries, including Sudan, China, Egypt, Turkey, Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar (Burma) and Azerbaijan.
Dr. Hormoz Shariat
Dr. Hormoz Shariat is the founder of Iran Alive Ministries. He was born into a Muslim family in Iran and came to the United States after the Islamic Revolution of 1979, where he came to Christ while earning my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering as a graduate student at USC in 1980. In 1987, Hormoz planted a church in San Jose, California. With hundreds of Muslim converts, which remains one of the largest churches of its kind in the United States. In 2001 he followed the Lord’s leading and founded Iran Alive Ministries, which utilizes Satellite TV to reach the millions of lost and broken people of Iran and the rest of the Middle East. Today, the ministry broadcasts the Gospel 24/7 from studios in Dallas to Iran and the Middle East, trusting the Lord to transform a nation, which is responding to the Gospel unlike any other time in history.
Dr. Michael Rydelnik
Dr. Michael Rydelnik is Emeritus Professor of Jewish Studies and Bible at Moody Bible Institute. He is also the Host/Bible Teacher on Open Line with Dr. Michael Rydelnik, answering listener Bible questions on some 300 stations nationwide across Moody Radio. The son of Holocaust survivors, he was raised in an observant Jewish home in Brooklyn, New York. As a high school student, Michael became a follower of Yeshua the Messiah and began teaching the Bible almost immediately. Besides his work on The Moody Bible Commentary and The Moody Handbook of Messianic Prophecy as co-editor and contributor, Michael is also the author of 50 Most Important Bible Questions, Understanding the Arab Israeli Conflict, and several other books and numerous articles. His doctoral research focused on the Messiah in the Hebrew Bible.
