Israel and the Jewish people always seem to be in the headlines. Terrorism. War. Antisemitism on university campuses and around the globe. Jews are the topics of conversation in podcasts, on school campuses, and in our homes. Yet Christians are wondering about the modern State of Israel and contemporary Jewish people. Are they related to the biblical kingdom of Israel and the ancient Jewish people of the Scriptures? Others question whether Jewish people are only God’s people of yesterday, or do they have an ongoing place in God’s plan? How does the Church relate to the Jewish people, and why should Christians care about the Jewish people and their homeland? Dr. Michael Rydelnik will join us to explore Israel’s unique identity and the special role Israel will play in God’s plan.
Hour 2: News and Views
Join us this hour as we look at several stories making headlines. What is happening in Nigeria? Why are so many Christians being slaughtered? What can we believers here in the U.S. do to help those who are suffering? Then, we take up several issues dealing with ethics and science, including the push for wild animal rights and the collapse of hospice in the U.K. Get ready to think biblically and critically.

Dr. Michael Rydelnik
Dr. Michael Rydelnik is Emeritus Professor of Jewish Studies and Bible at Moody Bible Institute. He is also the Host/Bible Teacher on Open Line with Dr. Michael Rydelnik, answering listener Bible questions on some 300 stations nationwide across Moody Radio. The son of Holocaust survivors, he was raised in an observant Jewish home in Brooklyn, New York. As a high school student, Michael became a follower of Yeshua the Messiah and began teaching the Bible almost immediately. Besides his work on The Moody Bible Commentary and The Moody Handbook of Messianic Prophecy as co-editor and contributor, Michael is also the author of 50 Most Important Bible Questions, Understanding the Arab Israeli Conflict, and several other books and numerous articles. His doctoral research focused on the Messiah in the Hebrew Bible.

Ryan Brown serves Open Doors US as Chief Executive Officer. With extensive experience in shepherding teams for Kingdom impact, Ryan is passionate about helping U.S. believers grow their faith as they connect with their persecuted family around the globe. His background includes 17 years in the relief and development sector including as Chief Development Officer at “Food for the Hungry”. He also spent time as a stockbroker, singer/songwriter, concert promoter, and running a small Christian music record label.
Wesley Smith
Wesley J. Smith is Chair and Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute’s Center on Human Exceptionalism. Wesley is a contributor to National Review and is the author of 14 books, in recent years focusing on human dignity, liberty, and equality. Wesley has been recognized as one of America’s premier public intellectuals on bioethics by National Journal and has been honored by the Human Life Foundation as a “Great Defender of Life” for his work against suicide and euthanasia. Wesley’s most recent book is Culture of Death: The Age of “Do Harm” Medicine, a warning about the dangers to patients of the modern bioethics movement.
