Hour 1: In His Hands

We kicked off the week a guest whose life proves that no life is beyond saving by the Lord. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we heard from a man whose life went from drugs and the dangerous life of the streets of New York to time in prison before God reached into his life and brought about an amazing transformation. He shared his personal journey and how God has transformed it into a ministry that is changing lives for the Kingdom. “Defending The Faith!” Just the statement seems like an overwhelming task and the fear of not knowing what to say has kept many from ever trying. But our guest explained what apologetics is and 5 strategic approaches for defending the faith to those who are seeking and searching for the answer to the ache in their souls. The generations that came and went before us could never have imagined that something as simple as human sexuality could be so tangled and confused as it is in our time. All around us people are trying to redefine God’s perfect design to fit their own ideas and comforts. But our guest drew us back to the simple, biblical guidelines set down by man’s creator and showed us how sexuality and identity are two sides of the same coin and why today’s popular viewpoint that being gay is unchangeable is wrong. When we live with deep hurts and woundings it is hard to sometimes to believe that we are even worthy of love. So, we push those hurts down deep inside and just learn to live with them. But our guest say that is not the way God intended for us to deal with these deep, abiding pains. This husband-and-wife therapy team joined us to share their insights on what true empathy is and how it is the door to finding true and lasting grace and healing from those pains. From the unrest in the Middle East, to the saber rattling of China, to the encroachment of AI in more and more part of our lives, there has never been a time where we needed to have a clear understanding of everything going on around us than the time we are living in now. That’s why Janet and Craig continue to invite you to join them as teach us all how to examine the news we hear daily through the lens of God’s truth so that we may better live and serve in these challenging times.

Hour 2: For His Purpose

On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we heard the moving story of a man who was brought to his knees as he desperately prayed and sought God for the life of his micro preemie daughter. His powerful journey story is one of faith born in fire, heart wrenching prayer and miracles above and beyond his expectations. His story is a reminder to us all of what the power of a mustard seed of faith in God can do. The singular uniqueness of man as God’s creation in His image is constantly under attack today. Our guest who is a staunch defender of human exceptionalism updated us on the efforts to redefine human health through technology and the latest on the efforts in Wisconsin to give human rights to nature. The United States is not the only place struggling with the issue of immigration. The United Kingdom is also having its own issues, and the frustration has led to demonstrations in the streets and an increase presence of the Union Jack flag across the country. Our favorite Scottish apologist explained what is behind this fervor for increased nationalism in the U.K.  He also commented on the increased use as well as increase change of misuse of AI as we see more stories of emotional dependance on the technology with horrific consequences including some who have taken their own lives. College students are choosing avoidance as a way of dealing with people they don’t like. Our guest a respected family therapist explained why this “no contact” way of life is gaining popularity in the halls of higher education. She also explained the dangers for kids who do not learn how to address and work through the natural challenges that come with relationships to others. Her advice was timely guidance for parents as their kids head back to universities across the nation. Once again, we pull back the curtain on some of the biggest news stories of the week and examine them under the magnifying glass of God’s unchanging truth.
