The collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam has been described as one of the biggest industrial and ecological disasters in Europe for decades. The Slavic Gospel Association is helping to support churches as they help families impacted by this catastrophic event. SGA President Michael Johnson will join Ken and Deb Thursday with an update on their relief efforts and how we can be praying for the local Christians who are ministering to their neighbors and sharing with them in this dire situation.

Michael Johnson
Michael Johnson is president of Slavic Gospel Association (SGA), a nearly 90-year-old ministry that partners with hundreds of missionaries and more than 6,000 evangelical churches across Russia and the former Soviet Union. After a 14-year hiatus as a consultant to other faith-based nonprofits, and with the encouragement of his wife, Erin, Johnson returned to lead SGA as its new president in 2017. Since taking the helm of SGA, Johnson has prioritized expanding the mission’s partnerships with local evangelical churches and pastors across the former Soviet bloc, a vast region of 290 million people stretching more than 4,000 miles from Eastern Europe to the Bering Strait off the coast of Alaska.
Dr. Mark Jobe
Mark Jobe serves as president of Moody Bible Institute and host of Moody Radio's Bold Steps. He is the author of Unstuck: Out of Your Cave into Your Call (Moody Publishers). He is also the founding pastor of New Life Community Church, a Chicago-based ministry with 27 locations throughout Chicago. Mark earned a diploma from Moody in 1984, a master’s degree from Moody Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in transformational leadership from Bakke Graduate University. He and his wife, Dee, have three adult children.
