“Obedience to God Is Nonnegotiable” - Rachel Scott

When we receive what Jesus won for us on the cross, He becomes the Lord of our lives, not just an advisor. What He says, we are to do.

But how do we know what it is He wants us to do? And is there a difference between calling, vision, and purpose? Does God give us temporary assignments?

Bible teacher, podcast host and author Rachel G. Scott, encourages us to pray, listen and obey God in her new book Taking the 5 Leaps: Experiencing God’s Faithfulness As You Respond to His Call.

What is a “leaping lifestyle”? And what if you feel like you missed your window? Rachel speaks to that as well in our conversation today. You’re going to love it. And her!

Next, Shawna talks about what she gave up for Lent and it’s not what you think it is.

Lastly, Does God want you to be happy? What does the Bible say?

We’re glad you’re here. Enjoy the conversation. And hit “Subscribe” to get future episodes.

Perry also serves with Frontiers, a worldwide ministry to Muslims. Perry and his bride, Teresa, call Holland, Michigan home. They have two adult children, Kali and Taylor, and Taylor’s bride, Bri.

Shawna Beyer

Shawna Beyer has a way of telling stories that create personal connection— to her, to one another, and to God. She has been a homeschool mom, church planter, project lead for a consulting company, and church staff member. Though she’s been involved in ministry with her husband (Dan) in Iowa, Arizona, and now Michigan, she was born and raised in Southern California and as they say, “You can take the girl out of California . . .” She is mom to four grown kids (Bryn, Drayson, Eden, and Haven) who no longer need her but humor her anyway. Shawna is passionate about the rhythms we weave into the fabric of our lives to fall more in love with God each day. Healthy foods are her go-to, but she will abandon that whole track in a heartbeat for a homemade cinnamon roll like Grandma used to make.
