What Happens One Second After You Die?

What does happen? Is it paradise for the believer and the torments of the flame for the unbeliever as the scriptures claim? Or is it simply the end of existence. The feature film, After Death dives into what happens after we die, drawing content from near-death experiences through the eyes of scientists and survivors.

Stephen Gray, the director of After Death took 7 years researching near-death experiences and what he’s discovered adds extraordinary weight to what the scriptures have been telling us for millennia. First, in 2012 Stephen lost his brother-in-law in a car wreck. That began Stephen’s search for what happens after we die.

Then spine surgeon Dr. Mary Neal drowned during a kayak adventure and came back to tell what she saw. Next, the research of Dr. Jeffrey Long of near-death experiences and how it stunningly aligns with the Christian worldview across all cultures and religions.

Then, Howard Storms’ experience of hell and the second chance Jesus Christ gave him. And last, filmmaker Stephen Gray shares how his research restored his faith in Jesus and underscores the heart of God who “doesn’t want anyone to perish but all to come to repentance.” Share this podcast. It may change their life!

Shawna Beyer

Shawna Beyer has a way of telling stories that create personal connection— to her, to one another, and to God. She has been a homeschool mom, church planter, project lead for a consulting company, and church staff member. Though she’s been involved in ministry with her husband (Dan) in Iowa, Arizona, and now Michigan, she was born and raised in Southern California and as they say, “You can take the girl out of California . . .” She is mom to four grown kids (Bryn, Drayson, Eden, and Haven) who no longer need her but humor her anyway. Shawna is passionate about the rhythms we weave into the fabric of our lives to fall more in love with God each day. Healthy foods are her go-to, but she will abandon that whole track in a heartbeat for a homemade cinnamon roll like Grandma used to make.
