Violence has increased in the last few weeks in Haiti, increasing the number of kidnappings and abductions, and underscoring the extreme danger of humanitarian work in Haiti. Recently, the question has been raised, "Can Christians in the U.S. still find meaningful ways to support the orphaned and vulnerable in Haiti?" On Wednesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Development Director of Konbit Haiti, Stephanie Robinson joins us to talk about a faith-based organization that works to help Haitian children stay out of orphanages by empowering local families and communities to care for their own.

On Wednesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Pastor Shawn Allen and Tom Lubben will join us to talk about this upcoming fundraising concert for Community Life where they are hoping to share some beautiful music that calls all of us to join God's mission together. Community Life’s MISSION is to facilitate sustained missional partnerships between church congregations and nonprofits to meet systemic needs in local communities.

Stephanie Robinson
Stephanie was born and raised in Alabama and attended the University of South Alabama for her undergraduate degree. She first arrived in Haiti in 2010 and quickly fell in love with the people of Haiti, moving there with her husband soon after. She began learning the realities facing Haitian families living in poverty- they feel placing their child in an orphanage is the most loving way to meet their child’s needs. During this heart wrenching learning experience, a new desire to empower and prop up families in Haiti was born and one of the reasons Konbit Haiti was started— to keep families strong and together.
Shawn Allen
Shawn Allen is the pastor of Community Life, and they believe Community Life is a strategic, life-giving way to invest in your community. They want to help congregations and individuals understand and embrace the emerging movement toward unity in each community. They are looking for people to become Partners, Helpers, and Supporters to join them in their mission.
