At Salt & Light, Sheltra works to address the root causes of generational poverty by providing material goods, educational services, and community development programs. She advocates for systemic changes and highlights issues such as the gap between wages and the cost of living, housing instability, and the challenges presented by "benefit cliffs" in government assistance programs.
Her work focuses on empowering people to view themselves as capable providers rather than just recipients of aid. She also manages volunteer scheduling and engagement for the organization.
