Living for God’s Glory: John Jelinek
We all have people who are role models and people we admire for their walk of faith. Today, Chris Brooks will introduce us to a man who has inspired many people to live for the glory of God. He is Pastor and Professor Dr. John Jelinek. You may not know his name, but you will be inspired by his example of faithfully loving and honoring our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Dr. John Jelinek
Dr. John Jelinek (Th.M., Dallas Theological Seminary, Th.D., Grace Theological Seminary) is the Pastor of Theology and Education for Woodside Bible Church, Troy, Michigan. John is the former Dean of Education and Vice President and Academic Dean at Moody Theological Seminary. He also was an integral part of the teaching team at the Moody Church in Chicago. Prior to serving at Moody Seminary, Dr. Jelinek was professor of Theology and Academic Dean at the Michigan Theological Seminary for ten years and an associate professor at Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA and at Alaska Bible College.
He has published numerous articles and reviews in periodicals and books.
John has been married to Linda for 40 years. They have 3 adult children: Rebekah, Micah, and Anna.
Greg Thornton
Greg Thornton is the Chief Financial Officer of Moody Bible Institute. During Greg’s 42 years of ministry at Moody, he has served in various roles, including interim president of Moody Bible Institute and Senior Vice President of Media. Greg is well respected as a godly, wise, and humble leader by those inside and outside the Moody family. Greg is a member of The Moody Church, where he serves as an elder. He and his wife, Grace, have been married for more than 40 years and have three children and at least eight grandchildren.
Erwin Lutzer
Dr. Erwin Lutzer is Pastor Emeritus of The Moody Church in Chicago where he served as the Senior Pastor for 36 years. A clear expositor of the Bible, he is the featured speaker on three radio programs heard on more than 1,000 outlets in the United States and around the world.
Dr. Eric Moore
Dr. Eric Moore is the Field Chair of Applied Theology and Global Church Ministries and Professor of Applied Theology and Global Church Ministries at Moody Theological Seminary-Michigan. He is also the Pastor and co-founder of Tree of Life Bible Fellowship Church of Southfield, Michigan.
Winfred Neely
Dr. Winfred Neely (D.Min. Trinity International University; Ph.D., University of Aberdeen, Scotland) is vice president and dean of Moody Theological Seminary and Graduate School. He is the former senior pastor of Judson Baptist Church in Oak Park, Ill. He has served as a missionary/pastor in Senegal, West Africa, for nine years. He and his wife, Stephne, have been married for over 46 years and have four adult children and ten grandchildren.
Micah Jelinek
Micah is the son of Dr. John Jelinek. He has served for the past 11 years on the pastoral team at Oak Pointe Church, Milford Michigan. He and his family are currently in a church planting ministry with The Detroit Project, an initiative of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Micah is a 2012 Graduate of Moody Theological Seminary. He is married to Laura, and they have 3 children, Violet, Henry, and Evangeline.

Chris Brooks
Chris Brooks is the senior pastor of Woodside Bible Church, a multisite congregation across the Detroit metropolitan area. Chris served for 20 years as the senior pastor of Evangel Ministries, a thriving 1,600-member church in the heart of Detroit. He also served as the campus dean of Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan. A popular Detroit radio host since 2005, Chris is the author of Kingdom Dreaming and Urban Apologetics. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Finance, completed his MA in Christian Apologetics at Biola University, and graduated from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Yodit, are the proud parents of six children: Christopher, Zewditu, Cameron, Judah, Sophia, and Christyana.
