“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
(2 Chronicles 20:12)
A fire alarm went off in a building, and at first, people hesitated. Some assumed it wasn’t serious and kept going about their routine. But the alarm wasn’t meant to be ignored but acted upon. In the same way, when the pressure rises and threats feel real, our response reveals what we truly depend on.
That’s exactly where we find King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20. A vast army was coming against him, far beyond his ability to handle. Instead of panicking or pretending he had control over the situation, he did something very powerful: He sought the Lord. He called a fast and gathered the people to pray. Jehoshaphat openly admitted, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” That moment of humility became the turning point. God responded with a clear word: “Do not be afraid . . . For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
There is more power in worship, prayer, and fasting than we often realize. These aren’t passive acts; they are spiritual amplifiers. When we quiet the noise, humble ourselves, and pursue God with intensity, we position ourselves to hear His voice and see Him move. Some of you feel like God has been silent, but He hasn’t stopped speaking. The issue isn’t His voice; it’s the distractions that drown it out. When God speaks, He cuts through our confusion, calms our fears, and shows us exactly what step to take next. And when we fully surrender to Him, we begin to see that the battle has always been in His hands.
Bold Step Challenge:
This week, follow Jehoshaphat’s example. Set aside intentional time to seek the Lord through focused prayer, worship, and even fasting. Bring your biggest challenge before Him and declare, “God, my eyes are on You.”
Prayer:
Father, I confess that I often try to fight battles in my own strength. Teach me to seek You first. Quiet the noise around me and within me so I can hear Your voice clearly. Give me the humility to admit when I don’t have the answers and the faith to trust that You do. Remind me that the battle is not mine but Yours. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Seven years ago, we took a step of faith and aired our very first program—before Bold Steps even had a name. We simply knew God was calling us to teach His Word and encourage people to take their next step of obedience.
Looking back, I’m overwhelmed by what God has done. What started small has grown into a ministry reaching millions, with lives being changed in ways only He could orchestrate.
Thank you to everyone who has shared your stories—they mean more than words can express. And I’m deeply grateful for our incredible team—Judy, Steve, Wayne, Merl, Jason, and Ross—for making this journey so meaningful.
Seven years in, we’re still in awe . . . and we’re just getting started.
Here’s to continuing to take BOLD STEPS.
