“As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
(John 9:4)
I still remember the feeling, walking up to my car and seeing the shattered glass. My GPS was gone in a smash and grab, but what hit me harder wasn’t the loss; it was how violated I felt. Someone had no right to take what belonged to me, yet they did. Maybe you’ve felt that too, not just physically, but spiritually. Some of you reading this right now can relate to how I felt that day, knowing what it’s like to have your peace stolen, your joy drained, or even your sense of purpose clouded.
In John chapter 9, Jesus Christ encounters a man born blind. His condition wasn’t just physical—it shaped how people saw him, labeled him, and dismissed him. But Jesus made it clear that this man’s life was not defined by what was missing but by what God wanted to reveal through him. Some of you have been living under labels, loss, or limitations that feel like something has been taken from you, but God sees differently. What looks like loss right now may actually be the very place where God chooses to reveal His power in your life.
The real battle is not just what has been taken but what you believe moving forward. The blind man had to trust Jesus even when it didn’t make sense—when he was told to go wash and respond in obedience. And as he did, his sight was restored. In the same way, your breakthrough is not based on whether God is able but whether you’re willing to trust Him. Even when your faith feels small, even when questions remain, obedience opens the door for restoration.
Bold Step Challenge:
Identify one area in your life where you feel like something has been taken from you—your peace, your confidence, your clarity, or your sense of purpose. Bring that specific area to Jesus today. Then take one step of obedience, even if it doesn’t fully make sense yet. Like the man who went to wash, you must choose to act in faith, not feelings, trusting that God is already at work in your restoration.
Prayer:
Lord, you see every area of my life where I feel loss, confusion, or limitation. Thank You that my story is not defined by what is missing but by what You want to reveal through me. Give me the courage to trust You, even when I don’t fully understand. Strengthen my faith where it feels weak and help me walk in obedience to Your voice. Restore what has been broken and open my eyes to see Your power at work in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Mother’s Day was a special day in the Jobe household this month as I had the privilege of expressing my love and gratitude to some incredible moms in my life.
First, my wife, Dee—who continues to brighten every day and make life better than the day before. Watching her step into her role as Grandma has been such a joy. Her patience, tenderness, and love are truly unmatched.
My daughter Marissa is doing an amazing job raising her two little ones (with another on the way in July!). Her strength, dedication, and devotion as a mom are inspiring to watch.
My daughter-in-law Carolina, Josiah’s wife, is faithfully raising their three boys with so much love, care, and intentionality. We are so grateful for the way she pours into her family.
And my dear mom continues to be a source of faith, laughter, encouragement, and wisdom even in her 80s.
Happy Mother’s Day to these beautiful women who mean so much to me—and to all the moms and grandmas out there too!
