God is a friend to the friendless. He’s hope for the hopeless. He’s a shelter in the time of storm. He’s our rock in a weary land, our comforter in trial and trouble. And the only question is—what do you need Him to be for you right now? Whatever it is, that’s what He’s going to show Himself to be.

In this new year, we can be the success that Christ wants us to be if we realize that He’s the reason for our success.  And we need to understand that we serve The Great High Priest, Who is personal to us.  He’ll be for us whatever we need Him to be. ...

The precipitation for our praise is based on Who God is—it's because He has intrinsic glory. In other words, there’s nothing that’s added to Him that makes Him glorious. We praise because He’s God all by Himself—He’s omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient. And He’s worthy of our praise!

The perfect guy will be someone in whom Jesus is resident and through whom the power of the Holy Spirit can be observed.
