Gettysburg, S.D. – the sister city to Gettysburg, Pa. – is about 49 miles north of the S.D state capital of Pierre and is the county seat of Potter County. The main economy of Gettysburg revolves around farming and agri-business. Recreational sports such as fishing, hunting and boating are very popular in this area.

The Huron Satellator first signed on in January 1999. It broadcasts to Beadle County, S.D. with a potential of reaching over 17,000 people. Huron Christian Radio is the local sponsor of Moody Radio and pays for local Satellator operating expenses in Huron. It also pays for the Translator expenses in Carpenter, SD.
