Hour 1: The Responsive Marriage
When you marry, your heart overflows with enthusiasm, exhilaration, and optimism. But soon after, differences in temperament, gender, family of origin, and marital expectations collide. Before long, your dialogue degrades with frequent accusations and debates about perspective. Dr. Donald W. Welch will show us the enemy in this fight isn’t your spouse. Unmanaged reactivity, those involuntary and unregulated reactive messages you inadvertently send your spouse when you’re triggered, is the culprit.

A movement called ‘deconstruction’ is sweeping through our churches and it is affecting our loved ones. It has disrupted, dismantled, and destroyed the faith of so many. Dr. Don Welch
Dr. Donald W. Welch, Ph.D., LMFT, CST is the Founder and CEO of the The Welch Family Therapy Institute (WFTI). Dr. Welch, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist with over 30 years of experience in the fields of mental health and relationship skills. Dr. Welch founded the Center for Enriching Relationships (CER) in 2002 which currently operates ten (10) sites with thirty (30) therapists and fifty (50) university students in training serving thousands of clients throughout San Diego, California. Dr. Welch oversees a partnership between CER and Point Loma Nazarene University to train and provide clinical hours to students in the Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling program. He is a published author, university professor, and speaker at conferences, churches, retreats, and seminars throughout the United States. He holds a bachelor’s degree, three (3) master’s degrees, and a doctorate degree.
Alisa Childers
Alisa Childers is a wife, mom, author, podcaster, blogger, speaker, and worship leader. She was a member of the award-winning CCM recording group ZOEgirl. She is currently a respected speaker at apologetics and Christian worldview conferences, as well as the host of her popular YouTube channel. Alisa's story was featured in the documentary, American Gospel: Christ Crucified.
