John M. Perkins

Dr. John M. Perkins is the founder and president emeritus of the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation and co-founder of Christian Community Development Association. He served in advisory roles under five U.S. presidents, was one of the leading evangelical voices of the American civil rights movement, and was an author and international speaker on issues of reconciliation, leadership, and community development. For his tireless work, he has received 19 honorary doctorates and in 2004 he partnered with Seattle Pacific University to launch the campus-based John Perkins Center for Reconciliation, Leadership Training, and Community Development. Dr. Perkins passed from this life into the presence of the Lord on March 13, 2026.

Rev. Dr. Wayne L. Gordon is the founding Pastor of Lawndale Community Church and Chairman of the Christian Community Development Association (C.C.D.A) which he co-founded with Dr. John M. Perkins.  In over 37 years of ministry "Coach," as he is affectionately known, has played a key role in numerous community development initiatives including the Lawndale Christian Health Center, a healthcare ministry that sees over 150,000 patients per year. He is a witness of God's call upon a person's life as he believes that the heart of the Gospel is reconciliation. Coach and his wife Anne have 3 grown children. He is a graduate of Wheaton College and Northern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dolphus Weary

Dolphus Weary is president of R.E.A.L. Christian Foundation in Richland, Miss., which strives to empower and develop rural ministries to improve the lives of Mississippians. Among his academic degrees, Dolphus Weary has received a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss. He is a nationally sought speaker and writer and serves on numerous boards across the state and country.

Elizabeth Perkins is Co-President and Program and Missions Coordinator at the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation (JVMPF). With over 25 years of ministry experience, Elizabeth has poured into the lives of both men and women, mentoring and guiding them in their spiritual, personal, and leadership development. She has a heart for equipping the next generation to rise with courage and conviction. As part of this work, she founded and led She-ciples, a discipleship group for teen girls focused on purity, purpose, and identity in Christ—demonstrating her commitment to nurturing young women with truth, grace, and love. Elizabeth's calling has also led her to serve globally, including ministry with The Navigators in Africa. Her leadership extends into storytelling, where she has served as executive director for three powerful documentaries. Through her work at the John & Vera Mae Perkins Foundation, Elizabeth remains steadfast in her pursuit of biblical justice and reconciliation, believing that through Christ, lives—and communities—can be made whole.

Priscilla Perkins is Co-President and leads Development at the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation (JVMPF). She is the visionary founder and inaugural headmaster of Harambee Preparatory School, and also heads the JVMPF Legacy Schools. As the seventh child of John M. Perkins, Priscilla has spent her entire life immersed in ministry, bringing a unique perspective and depth of experience to her work.

Dr. Tony Evans

Dr. Tony Evans is the founding pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, founder and president of The Urban Alternative, former chaplain of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks & the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, author of over 125 books, booklets and Bible studies. The first African American to earn a Doctor of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, he has been named one of the 12 Most Effective Preachers in the English-Speaking World by Baylor University. Dr. Evans also holds the honor of writing and publishing the first full-Bible commentary and study Bible by an African American. His radio program, The Alternative with Dr. Tony Evans, broadcasts to millions of active listeners across hundreds of radio stations and digital outlets across the nation and around the world. Dr. Evans launched the Tony Evans Training Center in 2017, an online learning platform providing quality seminary-style courses for a fraction of the cost to any person in any place. The TETC currently has over 50 courses to choose from and has a student population of over 1,500. Dr. Tony Evans was married to Lois, his wife and ministry partner of over 50 years until Lois transitioned to glory in late 2019. They are the proud parents of four, grandparents of thirteen, and great-grandparents of five. In November 2023, Dr. Evans married Carla Crummie, beginning a new chapter of love, faith and kingdom purpose.
