In part one of “Passing the Test,” Dr. Crawford Loritts took us to Matthew 4:1-11, to describe how Jesus passed his test of temptation in the wilderness. In this second part, Crawford talks about how we pass our test.

What does an empty tomb, a walk with a stranger, and an uninvited dinner guest have in common? Dr. Crawford Loritts takes us to Luke’s gospel to provide the answer. It’s a look at three special encounters in the Easter message, “From Fragile Doubt to Unshakeable Confidence.”  ...

This is a transition place in Matthew in terms of how Jesus relates to his disciples. They’ve been in the classroom up to this point and now its hands on. This is the time for them to experience being used by God in order to gain confidence and not blow it in the future.  Bottom line to this passage is this: God wants to use us.

In Part 1 of “Rewarded,” Crawford Loritts looks at the first of four ways we’ll be rewarded in heaven. He explains that rewards keep us moving toward God. Suffering transforms us. Rewards in the Bible remind us that we’re on a journey, a pilgrimage down here. This world is not the payoff.  We are not home yet.

Crawford Loritts explains that we will be rewarded in Heaven for the quality of our work, our faithfulness to God and how we overcame evil.  God’s power enables all of us to obtain these rewards.
