On Wednesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, MBI professor of Bible, Steven Sanchez introduces us to the study of 1 Kings for the month of May in Today in the Word. During this study we will see how much of Israel's leadership was poor, and led to crisis, suffering, and pain for the people. Even King David was far from perfect! As believers, we know that Jesus, the Son of David, is the final fulfillment of God's perfect plan. We don't put our trust in earthly kings, but in the righteous Leader who laid down His life so we will enjoy fellowship in the kingdom of God forever.

Hour 2: Heart For Lebanon - with Jack Hibbard
Without question, Lebanon is in a desperate place. Two million refugees from the Syrian war are living in tent settlements, they are suffering through an epic economic collapse, and over 85% of everyone in the country is in great need of aid. On Wednesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Jack Hibbard, director of the Heart for Lebanon campaign shares how we can help bring physical help and lasting hope of the Gospel to refugee and poverty-stricken families in Lebanon. Each gift helps Heart for Lebanon provide life-sustaining supplies, food, Christian education, Bible studies, and worship gatherings.

Steven Sanchez
Dr. Steven H. Sanchez is professor of Bible at Moody Bible Institute. His specific areas of study include the Israelite monarchy, the Pentateuch, the Second Temple period, and biblical archeology. Steven earned his BA from Columbia University (New York), and his ThM and PhD from Dallas Theological Seminary. He was one of 30 faculty contributors to The Moody Bible Commentary.
