Join Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, September 4, as Alveda King speaks at the next Faith in the Public Square forum. She is the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and sees the pro-life movement as a continuation of the civil rights struggle. The "public square" can be a street corner, a park, a sidewalk, a bulletin board, a blog, a break-room at work, a playground at school, an area on a college campus, or an actual public square where you can put down a soapbox and say your peace. Basically it is any place where, as citizens, we have the freedom to walk and talk. The public square is one of the most important realms of our culture because it is here where we - as a society - decide who we are and who we will be. Coral Ridge is driven by a desire to equip gospel-centered, culture-shaping Christians. Our faith, while deeply personal, must never remain private. We are called to an outward facing, public faith. Our hope is that the public square is one of those places in our culture that is transformed by the people of faith.
