U.S. Bank, Modern Woodmen of America, and the Putnam Museum & Science Center
Putnam Museum & Science Center
$13 for adults and $10 for kids ages 3-17
Sink your teeth into a prehistoric family party. Unearth kid-friendly, dino-themed activities and watch movies that center around creatures from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods on the museum’s GIANT Screen. Among the movies featured at Dino Days are “Jurassic Park,” “The Land Before Time” and “The Good Dinosaur.”
Guests can interact with lifelike, roaming dinosaur puppets, including a baby Triceratops as well as Dilophosaurus — a bipedal dinosaur portrayed in “Jurassic Park” as having an expanding neck frill.
The Putnam will also debut its new “Back to the Jurassic” augmented reality experience in the science center. This feature superimposes a computer-generated image on the real world, allowing visitors to interact with a life-sized Tyrannosaurus rex, giant Diplodocus, pack of raptors and more in real time.
Families can bring out their inner paleontologists as they uncover fossils in the museum’s outdoor Dino Dig. A scavenger hunt will also be available, as well as face-painting, crafts and more dino-themed activities.
