We hear it from our friends, the people in our church, our neighbors, even from the media -- we are living in difficult times. Our communities are divided across political and racial lines. We hear too many stories of families struggling with addiction, violence, and anxiety. Too often, even our leaders are stumbling and failing. Maybe that's how you feel, as well.
We are not alone. Our struggles might seem unique, but we are surrounded by brothers and sisters who have walked these difficult paths before us. And they can teach us how to walk through tough times when we simply can't see a way forward.
This is our hope and prayer for LIFT 2019. Our theme this year is Leadership in Crisis. For too many pastors, there is nowhere to turn when temptation overwhelms them. When the stress and weight of ministering to others become too much, we've seen so many of our friends and colleagues break. We must be better at helping them, helping each other, and find help for ourselves.
And how do we as leaders respond when a crisis erupts in our own community? How do we minister the love and grace of Jesus in hard times of turmoil and devastation? How do we protect the vulnerable and marginalized during times of upheaval?
Join us on November 15 for LIFT 2019. We'll be spending the day at High Point Church in Naperville praying, worshiping, fellowshipping, and learning from others about how we can heal our broken leadership and lead better through times of crisis.
