1: Rescuing Girls from Sex Slavery with She is Safe

In anticipation of the upcoming International Day of the Girl, founder of She is Safe, Michele Rickett, gives vital information on the reasons behind the booming international sex trade. Poverty and a low value of girls help perpetuate the industry, but the love of Christ, education, awareness, advocacy, and safe houses can transform lives. Learn more about what you can do to reduce trafficking by visiting sheissafe.org and liking She is Safe on Facebook.

Michele Rickett | Founder & CEO, She Is Safe

Michele Rickett is a founding board member of She Is Safe.  Her career in nonprofit work began with a missionary assignment to Kenya with Partners International in the 1980s, and has spanned over 30 years.  Her life calling is to exalt Christ by intervening in His Name for the least-reached, abused and enslaved women and girls.

In 2002, she and a group of other board members launched She Is Safe to free and equip women and girls to build new lives in the highest-risk communities across the globe.  Michele's teaching, writing and leadership have raised awareness of "the Goliath of our day: violence against girls and women," and created pathways for people to effectively engage on that issue with their time, talents, network and finances long before "human trafficking" was recognized.

Her work of building an organization that reaches life transforming goals in partnerships with local women leaders across the globe assembled a highly effective team and forged effective strategies to equip oppressed women and girls to break the cycles of abuse and slavery as they learn about and live for Christ.

Michele and her husband, Daniel, live in Woodstock, GA. and are active members of Roswell Community Church.  They enjoy living near their 2 adult daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren.

3: Voice of the Martyrs-October 2020 Updates

Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs joined Mornings with Tabi to discuss ways the free church can pray for those living in areas of the world where persecution is often the norm...

Todd shared the good and bad news in Eritrea.

He reminded listeners about The International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians (IDOP) in November. Ironically, this is a year where many are praying for the USA…especially regarding our November  elections. Our hope is that every church will also take some time to pray for our persecuted family as well.

Also, a new edition of JESUS FREAKS, the book by dc Talk and VOM, will be released later this month. Its an update of the 1999 CLASSIC book that inspired an entire generation, now with new, recent stories added in. (Release date is Oct. 27.)
