On a trip to his hometown, Cheboygan a couple summers ago, Perry was humbled; he was reminded of his humble beginnings; some successes and some colossal failures. He came away from that weekend realizing more deeply that he came from nothing and that anything good in him is from Jesus. Then, Jesus brought the same message to Shawna 4 times in a span of about 6 hours, “Become like a child.” Shawna’s takeaway: “I think Jesus wants me to take a leap of trust, but I have no idea what that is!”
Next, the world’s system says “Fulfill your every desire no matter who it hurts; whatever you see that you want, take it; and make it your ambition to be the center of the universe.” This is the sure path to destruction and there’s only one way to escape the gravitation pull of the world. Then, one of Perry’s friends thinks that God the Father is against him but that Jesus is for him. And that the Father won’t let Jesus help him. Finally we share our raw feelings about the Texas school shooting.
