Perry’s friend thinks that God has fatalistically determined him to be outside God’s family forever. A conversation about why that could never be true! Then, Perry’s been working on a new song for a year, it’s been a long, painful process as its message of rejecting the idols of culture has been pressed into his heart. And now as it’s ready to be released it may be that God is showing him not to release it. It’s a hard but really good realization.
Next, Shawna admits she always feels behind everyone else, that she should be doing more for the Lord as she looks around at what others are doing. Then, Perry believed a lie for a long time, and it was destroying him. It was this, “If I don’t feel forgiven, then I’m not forgiven.” Finally, if we’re committed to walking with someone who’s really hurting, it can be hard to say “no,” when they call. It’s a conversation about the line between being a helper and thinking we need to be the messiah.
