1: I Just Can’t Forgive

Deep in his heart Imed, a devout follower of Islam knew that even if he prayed for a thousand years, he probably wouldn’t make it into paradise. Muslims are working hard to earn God’s approval, but we too as followers of Jesus can fall into trying to earn it.  Then, just yesterday God brought to mind someone Shawna needed to forgive. It’s a conversation about what forgiving someone looks like. And what it doesn’t look like (it’s not letting someone off the hook). Next, Perry’s strategy for getting through March when most want winter to be OVER. Then, if you’ve ever felt terrified that you’ve committed an unforgiveable sin, find perfect love to drive out your fears. Finally, a Perry and Shawna Mornings listener, Corinne shares how a family member literally stole their home. Someone suggested that she forgive. Her response was, “Are you kidding me??”

2: Keep Ukraine Free!

Tyranny has raised its ugly head. Ukraine has been invaded by a man who wants to take over a free country.  He wants it to increase his power. Clearly evil is in play. But we know God is working as well. Ivan is a Messianic Jew who’s a pastor and professor in Ukraine. And he helps us see what’s going on in Ukraine in real time. First, 30 to 40 year old Ukrainian soldiers are capturing 18-year-old Russian soldiers. Seeing their young faces keeps them from hating Russians.  Then, Ukrainian believers have prayed that a supernatural fear would come over Russian soldiers, and it’s happened.

Next, an angelic cloud over Kiev in the first days of the war. Then the host of the Prayers of Rest podcast Asheritah Ciuciu whose parents are Romanian shares the deep pain she feels about the invasion of Ukraine and cries out in prayer for God’s help! Then Ivan shares how the story of David and Goliath is helping Jesus followers in Ukraine wrestle with whether they should take up arms. And finally, we’ll never be able to forgive those who’ve wounded us until we see the depth of our sin and the what it cost God to forgive us.

Perry LaHaie

Perry LaHaie's passion is to know Jesus and make Him known. “I’m all in with Jesus but not all put together. I need Jesus right now as much as I did when I first started following Him!” Perry says. In addition to co-hosting Perry and Shawna Mornings, Perry is a singer, songwriter, recording artist, and advocate for those who haven’t yet heard the gospel, especially those in the Muslim world. Born and raised in northern Michigan, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a graduate degree in Cross- cultural Communications. Perry also serves with Frontiers, a worldwide ministry to Muslims. Perry and his bride, Teresa, call Holland, Michigan home. They have two adult children, Kali and Taylor, and Taylor’s bride, Bri.

Shawna Beyer

Shawna Beyer has a way of telling stories that create personal connection— to her, to one another, and to God. She has been a homeschool mom, church planter, project lead for a consulting company, and church staff member. Though she’s been involved in ministry with her husband (Dan) in Iowa, Arizona, and now Michigan, she was born and raised in Southern California and as they say, “You can take the girl out of California . . .” She is mom to four grown kids (Bryn, Drayson, Eden, and Haven) who no longer need her but humor her anyway. Shawna is passionate about the rhythms we weave into the fabric of our lives to fall more in love with God each day. Healthy foods are her go-to, but she will abandon that whole track in a heartbeat for a homemade cinnamon roll like Grandma used to make.
