God pours his love into us first, giving us the power to love as he loves us. That’s what we’re talking about with author Jessica Thompson. Jessica’s part of the podcast Front Porch with the Fitzes, and is the director of church life at Risen Church, San Diego, California. Her new book is How God Loves Us, 40 Days to Discovering His Character in The Fruit of The Spirit. First Jessica shares how Jesus saved her from religion! Then, imagine a tree thinking, “I’m gonna try harder to bear fruit.” Not how it works, right? But that’s just what we do when it comes to growing in Jesus.
Next, apart from connection with Jesus we can do nothing. Then, Perry and Shawna settle a MAJOR disagreement. Next, when we stand before God he’ll ask us one question: “Did you believe that I loved you?“ Then, Jessica’s grandma use to call her “Hephzibah.” Jessica just thought it was one of grandma’s funny names, but years later she came across that name in the bible. And that’s when the light came on. Finally, Jessica shares how Jesus is freeing her from getting her identity from people’s approval and admiration.
