Today, Paul’s gospel versus the American Evangelical gospel, they’re really different from each other, check it out—we get an assist from John Mark Comer, teaching pastor at Bridgetown Church in Portland. Then, it’s not, “What would Jesus do?” It’s “If Jesus were you, what would he do?” It’s a conversation about what it’s looks like that Christ lives through us. Next, the true gospel is so much better than the one we may be settling for.
Then, the American Evangelical gospel is not untrue, it’s just missing SO much. Then “Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion - it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.” And finally, heaven isn’t just a place that we go to when we die, it’s the life of God in us now. And, belonging to Jesus isn’t a ticket to heaven, it’s answering his call, “Follow me,” and then following him for the rest of our lives and into eternity.
