Don't Just Settle

This week we’re wrestling with how we can know Jesus more, grow more like him.  How we can flourish in Jesus.  How we make sure we don’t just end up settling, how we make sure we don’t end up just marking time.  Here’s one way:  Surrendering to Jesus in one-thousand little and big ways.  And surrender looks like the Olympic gold medalist, Eric Liddell.  You may know a bit of his story from the film Chariots of Fire, but there is SO much more to his life.  Here’s another way:  Forgiving those who have deeply wounded us. And this one:  Being dead to the world!  Abraham’s life shows us what this looks like (assist from bible teacher Rod VanSolkema).  And then this one:  Finding joy in God’s commands because he knows how life works best.
