Kicking off Freedom Friday, the way we do identity in America is that we look to something that we believe will make us feel good about ourselves (we name ourselves) and then we look for a tribe to confirm what we’ve chosen to name ourselves. But this is an identity that’s on us to achieve and so it’s fragile. There’s only one way to have an unshakeable identity and it’s one we receive. Next, the only way to embrace what’s uncomfortable in your life is to radically accept it. This radical acceptance is where we collide with God’s grace. Then we ask our buddy Scott, “What do you do to unwind when you are stressed?” And finally, if someone who’s not following Jesus shares their pain with you, ask if you can pray for them. Susan did and God did something extraordinary. And he can do the extraordinary through you and me!
