As we wrap up a week on our theme “All Things New” Shawna shares how there are times in life where it is glaringly obvious that “This is not how it’s supposed to be!” When we feel that way, we’re right! In the beginning, when God spoke everything in to being with His Word, it was good! But sin has caused the chaos we live in today. Our sin. God restored us to Himself through The Living Word – Jesus. And He restores us today through His Word. As we obey God’s Word our lives are restored. It’s an ongoing process of surrender and obedience. But as we obey things become more and more as they should be.
Next, in our conversation, “Have you ever wanted a do-over?” Scott shares a time in his life when was prime for a fresh start in a new city only to find out that wherever you go, there you are. For a true fresh start we need to partner with God in the work that needs to be done IN us.
Lastly, another way God makes us new is be changing the way we think. Romans 12:2 says we are to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. This world is rigged to distract us. If our way of thinking is going to be changed and us transformed we need to be intentional in allowing God’s will and ways to permeate every area of our lives. JD Walt of Seedbed writes, “I want for my whole life to be invaded, informed, and inspired by your inspired Word. Lead me in new ways with your Word and along new paths of righteousness for your name’s sake.”
