It’s the beautiful story of Ali’s journey from Islam to Jesus. Perry met Ali at a missions gathering in Thailand in 2017 and captured his story there. First Ali shares what it was like growing up as a Muslim in the Middle East, how he and his family were persecuted by strict Muslims because his family wasn’t as conservative. That wounded Ali.
After leaving home for the university he met genuine Jesus followers. He saw their love for each other and for him and this attracted him. It led to an intense six month search to find out the truth: Was it in Islam or in Jesus? At the end of his search he just didn’t know, he needed God to show him.
Just then he was invited to a Christian gathering. He said “Yes I’ll go,” but in his mind he was thinking: “God if you don’t show me the truth at this meeting, I’m done searching.” Jesus did reveal himself to Ali at this gathering in a profound way and that’s when Ali began following Jesus. There were some costs to following Jesus in an Islamic country, like the loss of a job. But there were also beautiful things like his mom and dad and siblings deciding to follow Jesus!
Then during that meeting when Jesus revealed himself to Ali, Jesus said to Ali: “Ask me your questions.” Ali had many and Jesus answered them all! One of those questions was “Am I significant?” What Jesus shared with Ali is for you and me as well! And finally Ali shares why we should love Muslims. Please share this story!
