Today on Perry and Shawna Mornings, the enemy of your soul wants you to doubt that God is good, that God wants what’s best for you. There’s only one way to stand against his lies. We must know the word. Chip Ingram, bible teacher on Living on the Edge on 89.3 shares about his friend Dave who was hit with this crazy, random thought: “Your wife’s going to die.” It’s a real life look at how the enemy plants paralyzing thoughts and how we can make a stand.
Then Shawna shares her first experience with the demonic—how her friend was released through Jesus from the unclean spirits that we’re controlling her. It’s a reminder that this kind of spiritual warfare is real. And that as followers of Jesus we have authority over evil spirits. That’s good news. But even better news is that our names are written in the book of life—Our identity doesn’t come from the power Jesus has given us but from the love he has for us.
Finally, what we can see with our eyes is that we’ve been sitting in this pandemic for about a year. We have violence in our cities. We have a vicious presidential race. There are the wounds of racism. There is great division about the Supreme Court nominee. These we can see. What we can’t see is the unseen enemy who is stirring up as much confusion, chaos, hatred and fear as he can. Let’s not be unaware of the real battle and of our greatest weapon: Prayer. So we take time to pray not Republican prayers or Democrat prayers, but Kingdom prayers for what our country going through.
