Today on Perry and Shawna Mornings, Shawna shares how Jesus is setting her free from being controlled by the expectations of others. She’s learning to make good decisions, she’s learning to trust God and not feel like she has to smooth everything over for everybody. Then Perry shares about the first time in his life that he was aware of his sin: when he stumbled onto porn. How it made him feel dirty. That’s when he realized deep down that he had been disqualified from earning heaven. But the beauty of the gospel is that Jesus earned heaven for us. He lived the one perfect life that no one has ever lived. But instead of just taking the reward of heaven for himself, he allowed himself to be broken so that we who don’t deserve heaven can get what only he deserves. Freedom! Finally JS Parks, author of The Voices We Carry (moodypublishers.com) along with Perry and Shawna talk about how we don’t have to come to the end of life regretting our sins and broken relationships. Because all that is healed in the unearnable gift of intimacy with God through faith in Jesus.
