We are in a war, that’s what the last line in the Lord’s Prayer shows us. Today Perry and Shawna wrap up their conversation on the Lord’s Prayer with “Lord deliver us from the evil one who wages war against us!” First Perry shows that the fiery trial you may be going through is not because God has forsaken you. It’s Satan trying to cripple you, to take you out of the game, to keep you from being effective for the Kingdom. Find out how Satan has tried to take out Perry in his struggle with shame. Then Shawna shares that it is our good desires that the enemy uses to take us out. He takes us out when we decide to fulfill those good desires our way and not God’s. The way out starts with being honest with God what we desire more than him.
Finally Perry tells the story of Yassir who grew up hating Christians and how he and his friends tried to kill the only Christian they knew. But that believer, Zechariah, overcame the evil done to him by Yassir by praying for him. And that’s why Yassir is a follower of Jesus today. We overcome evil with good. We must go through many trial to enter the eternal Kingdom of God but the Lord will rescue us from every evil attack and bring us home safe.
