Freedom Friday with Paul Jauch

Paula Jauch author of Cross Addicted—Breaking Free from Family Trauma and Addiction, shares her staggering story.  Paula experienced overwhelming trauma growing up.  Her father was abusive and went to prison, mom was addicted.  So Paula turned to drugs and alcohol and cutting as a teen.  She had 2 children by the age of 18 as a single mom.  And by age 35 she didn’t want to live anymore.  But God!  Paula shares her story, that it’s OK to ask for help, she shares what it looks like to ask for help.  She tells about the moment she was literally held for the first time, having never been held by her parents and the healing that was birthed in that.  She shares how trauma cuts deep wounds in the family.  She reminds parents who’ve been crippled by trauma to forgive themselves for falling short as parents..   And she says that there is no healing without massive amounts of God’s grace.  Pain will not kill you, it’s OK to reach out for help.
