86,400 Seconds

Every day that's the amount of time God gives us. Each day at midnight, whatever we fail to use is lost. A balance isn't carried over until the next day and there are no overdrafts in our "time account." Each night what you don't use is lost as the account is zeroed out. But each day you get a brand new deposit. Think of it like this: What if every morning your bank credited your account with $86,400 but every evening canceled out whatever you failed to use. What would you do? Spend every cent!! And time is so much more valuable than money.

The Apostle Paul encourages us as believers to make the most of the time we have: "Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is" Ephesians 5:15-17.

This morning we also hear from Dr. Charles Stone, author of Holy Noticing: The Bible, Your Brain, and the Mindful Space Between Moments.
