You may be attending a family reunion this summer and when you do, is there a family historian? Do you look forward to hearing what they've discovered about your ancestors? Do you have the same excitement in reading the genealogies in the Bible? In this conversation, Dr. Jim Coakley highlights some of the treasures found within the genealogies of the Bible, helping us slow down instead of speeding up when approaching the many lists of names in Scripture!
Dr. Jim Coakley has taught at Moody Bible Institute, specializing in Old Testament and Biblical Languages, since 1999. Prior to Moody he was involved in pastoral ministry for thirteen years. He has traveled to Israel multiple times as a tour leader and has also toured throughout Turkey. He was a contributor to The Moody Bible Commentary.
