The winter has taken hold in Ukraine and the suffering index is high among the people with a lack of heat, electricity, and water. Eric Mock of the Slavic Gospel Association says, "The suffering exceeds anything I have seen." Eric will join Ken and Deb to talk about what is being done to help those that are suffering, but he will also share how God is working in these dark days. This is an opportunity to learn how we can help and be praying for the Ukrainian people on Ken and Deb in the Morning.
Have you been frustrated by attempts to read through the Bible in a year? Trusted Bible teacher and lover of the Scriptures Trillia Newbell talks with Ken and Deb about 52 Weeks in the Word that provides a doable reading plan with times of pause for deeper meditation. We'll also hear about her new podcast that will encourage you as you take this adventure of reading through the Bible in 2023!
Eric Mock is Vice President of Ministry Operations for Slavic Gospel Association (SGA). He spends one-third of every year traveling to Russia and several nations across the former Soviet Union, as well as Israel, to support SGA’s extensive network of 6,350 evangelical church partners and hundreds of missionaries. Literally circling the globe at least three times each year, his travels take him to remote villages in the Arctic Circle and hot spots including the border of Afghanistan and war-torn cities in eastern Ukraine. Today, with life-changing faith and the addition of a Master’s degree in International Development and a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Mock’s passion is to equip evangelical churches and pastors in Russia and the former Soviet Union to share the Gospel in word and action.
Trillia Newbell is the author of several books including 52 Weeks in the Word, A Great Cloud of Witnesses, Sacred Endurance, If God is for Us, Fear and Faith, and children's books, The Big Wide Welcome, Creative God, Colorful Us, and God's Very Good Idea. When she is not writing, she's encouraging and supporting other writers as Acquisitions Director at Moody Publishers. Trillia is married to her best friend, Thern; they reside with their two children in Nashville, TN.
