Summit LifeWhen is the best time to get your flu shot? Will this be a bad year for the flu virus? Should everyone get the latest COVID booster? As we head into the fall and anticipate flu season and a possible uptick in covid, Dr. Lars Thestrup will offer his perspective as an emergency room doctor and give us some of the latest research to help us make informed and wise health decisions.
The Quad Cities Prayer Breakfast is coming on Saturday, and this morning we will hear from one of the event's highlights, Quad City's Own NFL Star James Jones. James takes us back to some of his memories growing up in Davenport and shares spiritual touchpoints that led him to a place of total surrender. Quad Cities Prayer Breakfast sponsor David Pautsch will also be with us with all the details for this year's event.
Dr. Lars Thestrup was born and raised in Northern Virginia where he attended Mary Washington College earning his B.S. in Biology. He received his M.D. at the Medical College of Virginia and completed his emergency medicine residency at Johns Hopkins. Lars then completed a fellowship in North Carolina, focusing on emergency medical services and disaster preparedness at the Carolinas Medical Center. Shortly after the completion of his fellowship, he accepted a position in the City of Houston where he currently serves as an EMS Physician and practices at several emergency departments. Over time he realized his passion for health and fitness and its role in the prevention of disease which subsequently led him to the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellowship. This has allowed him to continue his journey in helping others evaluate their current lifestyles and assist them in obtaining their individual goals.
