Hour 1: Fostered: A Conversation with Tori Hope Petersen

Tori grew up in foster care and went on to become a Track and Field All-American and joined the 3% of foster youth who graduate from college. She is now a foster mom herself and advocates for foster care reform, adoption awareness, and help for vulnerable populations. Hear her story and discover ways that you can help children who are now growing up in foster care in this thoughtful conversation.
Hour 2: Bowen's Heart; A Conversation with Matt Hammitt
How does a child's chronic illness affect an entire family? Matt Hammitt, Grammy-nominated Christian Rock artist, formerly of the band Sanctus Real, joins us to talk about his son Bowen's heart condition and how this has impacted their family and faith. Bowen's story is followed in a new film, "Bowen's Heart." This is a documentary that offers a deeply vulnerable view of how chronic illness impacts everyone in the family. Matt and his wife Sarah are praying that this film will be an encouragement to other families that are going through what they went through and share the hope and joy they have for their son Bowen.

Tori Hope Petersen
Tori Hope Petersen is a former foster youth letting her Abba be known. She is passionate about foster care reform, adoption advocacy, vulnerable populations, and seeing the love of God change people's lives! Tori speaks across the nation sharing her powerful story, but her favorite form of art and communication is writing. Tori and her husband, Jacob, have the three sweetest kids: a biological son and daughter, Leyonder and Ezzeri, and an adopted adult son, Sar. Matt Hammitt
Matt Hammitt is an American singer, songwriter and author. Matt was the lead singer and songwriter for the band Sanctus Real from 1996-2016. He has been the recipient of three Dove Awards, has been nominated for two Grammy Awards for his work with Sanctus Real, and has been awarded for his chart-topping songs, performed by both Sanctus Real and other musical artists. An Ohio native, Matt now lives in Nashville with his wife, Sarah, along with their four children.
