What was Joseph’s role in the birth of Jesus? What kind of man was the earthly father of our Lord? Gerad Hall takes us to the birth announcement of Jesus to Joseph as told in Matthew 1:18-25. Listen as Gerad walks us through Matthew’s telling of Jesus' birth, and what we can learn from Joseph’s character and example.
How do the hymns of the faith instruct us in the doctrines of the church and a life of worship? Modern Hymn writer Keith Getty joins Ken and Deb to discuss modern day hymns and songs that are sung in worship services around the world and their role in our corporate and personal worship. We also look at how our heritage has a place in the worship set. It’s a thoughtful discussion on worship and the church with one of today’s premier hymn writers.
Gerad Hall serves as a representative for Iowa, Missouri, and southern Illinois. Gerad is from the Quad Cities region of eastern Iowa and western Illinois. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Moody. Prior to coming on staff with Moody, he served as a family pastor in East Moline, Illinois, for more than nine years. He and his wife, Melissa, have been married for more than 10 years and have two sons.
Keith Getty is a modern hymn writer. In re-inventing the traditional hymn form, Keith and his wife Kristin have created a distinguished catalogue of songs teaching Christian doctrine and crossing genres by connecting the world of traditional and classical composition with contemporary and globally-accessible melodies. Keith’s most popular hymn, “In Christ Alone,” was co-written with Stuart Townsend and is the #1 most popular hymn sung in the UK for the past nine years.
