What makes for genuine community? Does attending a church mean that you’ll experience it? The church is meant to be the family of God but often it feels like an assembly of strangers. Ben Connelly says that in order to have a truly Christian community there need to be certain intentional practices that allow for deeper connections between brothers and sisters in Christ. We talk about some of those intentional practices as we rethink community with church planter Ben Connelly on Ken and Deb in the Morning.
Ben Connelly is Director of Equipping & Planting for the Soma Family of Churches and Saturate and is currently co-planting the Salt+Light Community. In addition to local shepherding, he gets to train everyday disciples, encourage churches and denominations, and help them plant churches. Ben has taught university and seminary classes and holds degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary and Baylor University. He lives in Fort Worth, TX, with his wife, their three elementary-age kids, and at times, short-term foster children as well. www.benconnelly.net.
