Raising a child with autism is both a challenge and an adventure, but our guest brings encouragement to not squelch the possibilities. Ron Sandison was diagnosed with autism at age seven and his parents were subsequently told all the things he would never accomplish. He went on to graduate from college with a master of divinity degree, have a career in the medical field, get married, and have a family. By writing his story along with the stories of other young adults with autism that are sharing amazing gifts and talents with the world today, he is hoping that they will give hope and a perspective change for those with autism and their families. What do single parents without family or friends in the area do when they have an emergency? How does a family new to our community deal with a sudden need for child care? SAFE Families is a ministry that offers safe homes as volunteers open their homes to help families in crisis. Jessica Trowbridge gives us an update on this ministry and offer ways that you can get involved in serving families in our community.
